Why the rubric is published
A ranking of your own products is worth nothing unless someone else can check it. That is the reason the scoring rubric is public, every input is a figure from a provider's own pricing page, and every page carries the date those figures were read.
Two things are published separately and should be read that way. The score against each provider is computed from its own published figures and nothing else — change a price and the score changes. The order providers are listed in is an editorial ranking set by us. They do not always agree, and where they differ the score column is the one built from data you can check yourself.

Links to provider billing pages may earn this site a commission. They carry rel="nofollow sponsored". Commission does not enter the scoring engine at any point — the inputs are prices, terms, trial conditions, refund policy and operating history, and nothing else.
Legality
Delivering television over an internet connection is legal technology. Whether a specific service is legal depends on whether it holds distribution rights for what it carries. Licensed services are fully legal; a service selling premium content at an implausible price may not hold those rights in your country, and that is worth asking about before buying.
